Pietro Richiedei

A collection often starts coincidentally: walking distractedly our gaze falls onto an object
which will be the first one of the collection. It was love at first sight when I saw a Victorian
cup in a flea market, and since then I got passionate to esteemed silver objects.

I soon realized these objects also have sentimental values. Walking around shops, markets and
exhibitions, sometimes looking for something specific, other times wanting to get surprised
by destiny and finding a special piece to fall in love with. The true spark comes not from
adding a new piece to the collection but from the research and the acknowledgment of a
piece and of its value

About Us

History of the collection

I started collecting ancient silver objects in 2000. The most ancient objects of my collection are two silver golden cups from Ercole Marelli’s collection in Nurimberg, that date back to 1600. I collect table and parade objects. My collection boast of 32 silver object from 1600, one of these is a cup from Nurimberg that dates back to 1588. Regarding to the year 1700, I own 1757 silver objects such as parade plates and milkjugs made by John Schuppe, a basket made by Paul Store, twelve plates made by Paul Crespine, a 10 pieces tea and coffee service made by Giovan Battista Croff (43 pieces total).
After an accurate research I also found a coffee pot and a sugar bowl. I also own 1276 objects from the era of 1800, such as: oil jug, coffee pot, sugar bowls, salt shaker and various cutlery. There are also 68 objects from 1900: multiple basket, egg cup.
